The Algerian National Theater

The Algerian National Theater TNA . is a center of educational and cultural creation installed in the old opera of Algiers, 10, Hadj Omar street in Algiers.
The theater has been the residence of the Algerian National Ballet since 1963.

The opera is built from May 1850 to September 1853 by the architects Charles Frédéric Chassériau and Justin Ponsard in a neo-baroque style. It was inaugurated on September 29, 1853. On March 19, 1882, a fire destroyed the opera but the exterior walls were spared. It was rebuilt the following year.
