CHAB MAMI

Boy.  Mohamed Khelifati on July 11, 1966 in Gharbet El Oued, a neighborhood in the Saida region of western Algeria.  His father, who worked in a paper mill, was a strict and poor man.  This family situation forced the young Mami to accept anything to help his father earn a living.  Mami's tendency to sing appeared from an early age.  He was said to have preferred to sing melodies and pieces of "exotic songs" rather than doing his homework.  He ended up singing at weddings and nightclubs when he grew up.  He participated in the program "Composer and Youth" at the age of thirteen and gets second place.
