CHAB MAMI

Boy.  Mohamed Khelifati on July 11, 1966 in Gharbet El Oued, a neighborhood in the Saida region of western Algeria.  His father, who worked in a paper mill, was a strict and poor man.  This family situation forced the young Mami to accept anything to help his father earn a living.  Mami's tendency to sing appeared from an early age.  He was said to have preferred to sing melodies and pieces of "exotic songs" rather than doing his homework.  He ended up singing at weddings and nightclubs when he grew up.  He participated in the program "Composer and Youth" at the age of thirteen and gets second place. After performing in 1986 with Cheb Khaled at the Bobigny Festival in France, Mami managed to sign a singing contract, and then performed at the famous Paris Olympia Theater, a precedent for Ray singer.  Shortly after the Olympia concert, he recorded his first album titled "Donny for My Country".  After two years of military service in Algeria, he returned to Paris to resume his artistic career.  He then released "Let Me Cry Alone" in America in 1990. Mami strengthened his fame in France, his new residence by issuing "Saida" in 1995, and "Mali Mali" in 1999, which reached the highest level of sales in France, and became Mami international star in collaboration with the singer  The famous Sting in the song "Desert Rose" (Brand New Day, 1999). He released his duet song with the artist Kazem El Saher Smit (I sit in the cafe). In 2002, he released a duet with Samira Said under the title "Yom Laura Yom".  His latest album, "Dalali" (2001), is classified in the rai mixed with popular melodies, with the flavor of pop, reggae and rajamavin.  With the distinctive Prince of Rai, Cheb Mami has been able to develop his own musical style over the years.  Cheb Mami became a big star, impressed by thousands and thousands of fans with his singing style and sold millions of his albums.  And celebrated in the name of Prince of Rai and his fame to the countries abroad Europe, Arab countries and America and held several concerts in these places has recorded songs with some famous artists American and Arab
